PVC Synthetic Teak – Key features
PVC – choose the highest quality
PVC synthetic teak is a popular alternative to real teak that has gained in popularity over the last 15 years. We have been involved with PVC synthetic teak since it all began. It is a very realistic alternative to natural teak with the PVC sanded to give a grained appearance. The best quality synthetic teak is undoubtedly 100% virgin PVC that provides the best weld security and durability. Such decks have proven to last many, many years longer than others that add a high proportion of cheaper packing ingredients to the PVC material usually making it lighter with larger colour variance in the material.
Cheaper quality materials have additives and fillers that reduce the weld strength and therefore reduce the decks lifespan. Beware as some of the best known brands do not necessarily use the best quality materials.
PVC Synthetic Teak – Comparisons
Synthetic teak is often marketed as “maintenance-free” and indestructible. The truth is, the material alone doesn’t make a deck last. Most manufacturers only guarantee the raw material—not the panels, not the finished deck, and certainly not the workmanship.
What really matters is how the deck is fabricated and installed. A deck made from high-quality material can still fail if it isn’t carefully cut, joined, and fitted. That’s where Beautiful Marine Floors certified fitters make the difference:
-
Each deck is precisely fabricated to fit your boat’s dimensions.
-
Panels are professionally joined and bonded, ensuring durability and water-tightness.
-
Every installation follows strict quality standards backed by a workmanship guarantee.
The takeaway: A synthetic teak deck is only as good as its fabrication and installation. We focus on the complete process—from raw material to finished deck—so your deck not only looks stunning but performs reliably for years.

The Deckmakers
After many years of deck making using a variety of materials, we opted for a backwelded system, which we consider the most durable and robust. We chose this system for its ease of installation, long-lasting performance, and a more comprehensive deck guarantee that covers the finished product, not just the material.
The manufacturer is based in the South of the UK, with deckmakers who are highly experienced in this specialised field. Decks are distributed only to carefully selected fitters to ensure consistent product quality. This approach provides a warranty on both the deck and material, along with the reassurance that each fitter’s past work and expertise have been thoroughly vetted.
